Germany vs Spain

An unstoppable force meets an immovable object in Durban today. Germany takes on Spain for the last spot in the World Cup Final. David Villa will look to score in his fifth straight game. Germany will have to step up their offense with the suspension of Thomas Muller, and we will see if Gollum can find the Ring of Power.

It will be an absolute battle for 90 minutes, if not 120. I see this one going into penalty kicks, with Spain walking away victorious.

This Guy

This week's 'This Guy' is my brother, Jay. The Houston Chronicle did a piece on grilling for the Fourth of July weekend, and he was in this video, filmed at Central Market. Sure, it may not get anybody anywhere being on this blog, but one day...

Welcome To The Final Four

With the first semifinal match minutes away, the World is on edge. The first match will feature underdogs Uruguay up against the seemingly insurmountable Dutch team.

The quarterfinal match between Uruguay and Ghana was certainly dicey. In the 121st minute, a free kick by Pantsil of the Ghanaian team was put into the box, batted away, kicked away, and then smacked away from the goal line. Breakout striker Luis Suarez was to blame, receiving a red card, and getting suspended for today's match. Uruguay is looking to show the world that they deserve to be on the it's biggest stage.

The Netherlands has not lost any steam throughout this tournament. They are the only remaining team to have won every contest thrown their way. Today isn't going to be an exception. It will be a battle, with Uruguay's 4-4-2 formation up against a Dutch 4-5-1. I think we're looking at a final score of 2-1.

Dice-K Back To His Old Self

Eric Patterson hits 2 home runs, they chased Matt Garza, and Terry Francona kept Daisuke Matsuzaka in for four batters too many.

Another four walks, 30 pitches in the first inning, and more jams than a Phish concert. The Red Sox had a 5-1 lead going into the 5th inning...then it all fell down. Again, Dice-K just let the lead slip away.

It's just gotten to be too much. I personally was pumped when Dice-K had that stretch of about 3 starts when he looked like he was worth some of the ridiculous cash we paid him, but now, its just so easy to go back to getting that "who's pitching to-...oh, crap."

The Sox are 2 games back, and a half game back of the Rays going into battle tonight. Felix Doubront will look to notch another victory against Jeff Niemann.

Go Sox.

Pedroia At His Finest

So I heard about this today. Red Sox second basemanDustin Pedroia, out from a fractured foot, was taking grounders this afternoon from his knees to keep his reactions sharp while on the disabled list. Veteran pitcher John Lackey came over to Pedroia while he was practicing, and jokingly asked, "What the hell are you doing?" Pedroia's response?

"Polishing the machine."

Laser Show. Relax.

Whites' Stock Skyrockets

Huffingtonpost.com To some, it's known as "White Guy Window Dressing." Others call it "The Token White Guy Gig" or even a "Face Job."

These are terms used to describe a recently established practice employed by Chinese firms, who are willing to pay high prices for fair-skinned expatriates to act as faux employees and white-collar business partners -- all in an effort to impress other area businesses.

That's it. I'm storming down to the local Chinese joint and demanding employment. Its a no-fail plan. I meet all job requirements: A) I'm white B) I need to pretend to know zero Chinese (There will be no pretending there) and finally C) I'm white. If they are still skeptical I'll wave this article in their face and give them a free lesson in "White Guy Window Dressing." Really though this sounds legit, where do I sign up? After I pretend to be doing something for a while and tell people I don't understand them all day I get the 'red carpet' treatment when its time to party.

Just a side note I know these last two posts were from the same website but they are literally just too good to be not let our 14 followers know about.

Get Rich Or Die Tryin'

Huffingtonpost.com A lock of hair Ibbetson cut from the former emperor's head fetched NZ$19,000 ($13,100) from a private collector in London who did not want to be identified, he said.

Ahead of the sale, Coney said he expected the hair to sell for up to NZ$300,000 ($207,000).

This is simply outrageous, I can't believe how much some poor bastard would pay for a lock of Napoleon's hair. I mean seriously dude, I can't even find a job these days and you're pissing away 13 GRAND on a lock of hair from a dead guy. No wonder he didn't want to be identified, shit's absurd. I wish he was identified though, just so I could offer up a lock of my pubes to this guy for 13 grand, and you know he'd take it. Hell, I'd throw in a bag of hair and a fresh lock of pubes every month for the rest of my life for 13 grand right now.
